About Chainracers

FUELING A THRILLING JOURNEY INTO THE METAVERSE

Chainracers, a PvP battle arena game by GammaChain Games that aims to capture the essence of late ’90s and early 2000s retro gaming and chaos. GammaChain Games, a small team based out of Seattle sought my help to shape the vision for this new world, it’s characters, mechanics and features that would translate into a game.

Together we created the chaotic and cryptic world of the ChainRacers, mutated beings that traverse the metaverse in mayhem machines, looking for a way home. After a gamma explosion tore a ripple through their dimension, fragmented pieces from parallel universes began to merge together in this new realm to create unique variants of characters and cars.

FIGHT FAST, FIGHT FEARLESS

I designed the brand, it’s logo and graphic design elements to look electric, rebellious and fun.

A hybrid of Twisted Metal chaos, Tron-style traversal and the Playstation 2 / Xbox era nostalgia. The logo, UI and graphic designs all carry bold lines, neon textures, and high-contrast color pops that feel alive, energetic and just a little… unstable.

Creative Design & Art Direction

DEVOURED AND POWERED BY GAMMA

Chainracers creative art design is built on a charged fusion of retro gaming chaos and futuristic energy. Every visual element pulls from a mutated and mashed up world where gamma-radiated power fuels lightning-charged vehicles, racers sprint through neon-lit metaverse corridors and tiny unassumingly cute characters emerge with over-the-top personality and attitude.

Game Design & Demo

BRINGING THE CHAOS TO LIFE

I led the creative vision for the game and oversaw the development of a pre-alpha demo built in Unreal Engine. The demo served as a proof of concept for investors and played a key role in getting the project green-lit.

  • Managed and directed the full pre-alpha demo production

  • Guided worldbuilding, environment layout, and gameplay direction

  • Helped shape the core mechanics and overall game feel

  • Ensured demo quality for investor presentations and internal approvals

Game UI/UX

CLEAN, FAST, EFFECTIVE INTERFACES

I designed the full UI/UX system for the demo, blending a retro-electric aesthetic with fast readability and a futuristic, energy-charged style that fit the world and gameplay.

  • Created HUD, menus, and in-game visual systems

  • Defined interaction flows and player feedback cues

  • Ensured UI clarity during high-speed gameplay moments

  • Established early style guides for future interface expansion

3D Asset Development

GAMMA FORGED CARS & WEAPONS

I oversaw asset creation and helped guide the team in developing 3D models, vehicles, environments, and interactive elements that defined the game’s visual identity.

  • Directed 3D asset production for characters, vehicles, and environments

  • Provided creative oversight for modeling, texturing, and lighting

  • Ensured consistency with the game’s retro-electric, gamma-charged aesthetic

  • Coordinated asset integration into Unreal for demo performance

Platform Development

DRIVING GROWTH ACROSS EVERY CHANNEL

The web platform served as a central touchpoint for investors, collaborators, and early adopters. It combed 3D asset previews, an e-commerce storefront, and crypto integrations into a seamless experience. Built on React, it showcases the project’s technical capability, brand vision, and ecosystem potential.

Story Building & Item Lore

MAYHEM BEGINS THE THE METAVERSE

The lore centers on a catastrophic gamma tear that fractured reality and opened pathways into a metaverse-like dimension, an unstable realm where physics bend, metal mutates, and vehicles take on lives of their own. In this world, battle cars become gamma-forged hybrids: stitched-together machines with mismatched parts, rare components, charged reactors, rims, panels, and signature weapons. As fighters push deeper into the metaverse dimension, new mutations, styles, and collab-based parts become accessible, feeding into a culture of mechanical mayhem and high-stakes vehicular combat.

  • Created a modular ecosystem of mix-and-match car parts, weapons, styles, and reactors

  • Designed lore around gamma mutations influencing vehicles, tech, and traversal zones

  • Built a progression system where special parts unlock through collabs, battles, and exploration

  • Crafted backstories for fighters, cars, and reactors that fuel long-term storytelling

World & Map Design

A MULTIVERSE OF SHATTERED REALMS

The world is split into a chain of fragmented islands—each a self-contained realm themed around an element, a lost era, or a character’s original identity before the gamma tear fractured everything apart. These lands are connected by neon-lit, Tron-style gamma highways and bridges that cut through the void, allowing fighters to jump between dimensions at high speed. Every map once belonged to a complete character, but after the split, their essence scattered across the multiverse, leaving behind themed arenas, landmark ruins, and the pieces that define the game’s mix-and-match system.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Designed a multiverse map made of distinct elemental and thematic islands

  • Created gamma-powered highways and bridges for high-speed inter-realm traversal

  • Built world concepts tied to the original “complete” characters before the split

  • Developed signature maps like Ice Pyramid, Fallen Liberty, and Desert Oasis

  • Integrated lore-driven landmarks that hold character parts, styles, and special unlocks

  • Established environmental storytelling that reinforces the game’s gamma mythology

Community Initiatives

COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS, PROMOTIONS & USER REWARDS

The community layer was designed to expand the universe beyond the game itself, creating real momentum through partnerships, early access programs and interactive experiences. Strategic collaborations with major industry players and creators helped validate the project, attract funding and build long term engagement among early adopters.

  • Formed an official partnership with Polygon Studios to support blockchain integration and ecosystem growth

  • Raised funding for the next phase of game development through community and partner driven initiatives

  • Secured partnerships with Blockchain PR and influential creators including Steve Aoki

  • Developed an early Season Pass for beta players featuring in game unlockables and exclusive cosmetic rewards

  • Built and managed a growing Discord community with channels for updates, support, events and player feedback

  • Created community driven events and reward systems to strengthen early engagement and long term retention
